Receiving a pension

About to retire

Before you can receive your pension your employer will have to notify us of your retirement. Once we have been notified, your pension benefits will be calculated and confirmation will be sent to your home address along with some forms for you to complete.

Retired

Once set up, your pension is paid on the last working day of each calendar month in to your bank account. You will receive your first pay advice slip, but unless the amount going into your bank varies by more than £1each month, you will not receive monthly pay advice slips. More information.

If you are entitled to a lump sum, or have chosen to convert some of your annual pension into a lump sum, you will receive that after you have retired.

If you change your address or bank details please let us know by completing this form.

If you take another job with an employer who takes part in the Local Government Pension Scheme (not just the Devon LGPS), by law you must tell us this in writing as this may affect the amount you are paid from your pension.
